Preparing for Finals!

So either you have finals this week (like I do) or they're slowly creeping up on you, the struggle to study can get real because it's so close to the end of the semester that you just wanna call it quits or just not even try anymore, right? That's how it usually is for me, honestly, but this finals week routine I've been recently doing has helped improve my studying skills!

Having a clean room/atmosphere
I've learned that having a clean atmosphere has helped me get into the studying mood. Not having my room clean, in general, makes me go crazy, but there's something about finals week that makes me want to clean more and actually enjoy cleaning. Weird, I know. I feel like this gives you less stress because you aren't worried about cleaning because you already cleaned, plus this gives you more time to study which is always good!

Light your favorite candle
To add the clean atmosphere, I usually (always) light a candle. It gives a calm vibe and the fact that it smells amazing is a plus! The candle I've been burning is Oceanside from Bath & Body Works, however it is running low so I'll most likely burn my second favorite at the moment which is Cherry Blossom Sangria from Bath & Body Works! :)

Eat well and drink lots of fluids

Now when reading that it sounds like a doctor's recommendation, but really it helps! You can substitute this to fit your liking, but I tend to go for fruit and yogurt and water because I'm trying to be healthier in my eating decisions. I drink water, tea or coffee. It's also a good break to have when you feel like you've studied a good amount and want to let your brain rest for a while!

Listen (or make) a study playlist
Music is a big part of my life and I listen to music religiously so studying while listening to music is a must for me. It changes, but I usually listen to indie or classical music when I study. I can't stand being in a silent place when studying, it drives me crazy so listening to music or even going to a coffee house makes studying a bit better, in my opinion.

Make notecards
This is a well-known tip, but it does help. I recently used them for my art final and it made it easier to learn the vocabulary and different eras. I will definitely be using notecards for my sociology and history finals. They're easy to grab and put in your bag for on the go studying which is great!

So these are a few things I do to prepare for finals and I hope it helped you in any way and if you have any other tips, I would love to hear about them in the comments! :)

Spring Cleaning : Phone Edition

So it is Spring and I don't know about you, but I always feel more motivated to clean out my phone and of course, my room, but that'll be for another post that's coming up real soon! :)

There are a few things I do to declutter my phone and I thought I'd share them with you all!

1. Delete any unwanted pictures and back them up on your computer
This may be a simple thing to do, but trust me, it takes me months before I actually do it and I usually do it when I know I have too many pictures and don't need them all in my camera roll (photo hoarder over here!) so when I do decide to delete the unwanted pictures I make sure to delete them completely from the recently deleted folder and then I finally back up my pictures onto my computer and clear my whole library as a fresh start!

2. Delete any useless emails and read the unread emails
This is a tedious process, but it's worth it in the end! I've been known to not check my email for a couple of days and see so many emails notifications for my blog or channel and even some good deals from my favorite stores (and seeing that they're expired and I get upset haha) and it's not fun so I read through them and then delete the emails I don't need in my inbox and it helps from getting too full and is less overwhelming, for me anyway! haha

3. Delete songs that you don't listen to anymore from your music library
I rarely do this because I tend to forget (oops), but I've recently gone through my music library and have deleted some songs that I never listen to or just don't like anymore and again, I'm a music hoarder, as well, but this definitely helps you figure out your likes and dislikes, music wise and it gives you more space to add some of the new music you're currently listening to!

4. Delete apps you no longer need or use
As you can see, lots of deleting is happening! But really, I can't tell you how many times I've gotten the little notification saying my storage is full and it's usually (majority) apps that take up the most space and again, it's usually apps I don't need and sometimes I never even opened, sad, I know. You'll be surprised by how many apps you actually don't need and how much space you'll have once those apps are gone!

5. Go through your contacts and delete people you no longer talk to
This can be bittersweet sometimes, but it's necessary. I cleaned out my contacts and I had a lot of people I didn't talk to anymore. Once doing this, I start to realize that I like to keep my circle quite small. There's not much I can really say about this, but cleaning it out will help you not have those "who are you again?" moments like I have had in the past!

Now let's talk about decluttering your social media via iPhone (or whichever phone you have!) :)

Instagram
-Unfollow any people you don't know, don't like their feed as much anymore, or are just random people you follow and don't exactly remember why (I'm guilty of this..)!
-Delete old pictures that you regret taking or just don't want them on your feed. This helps you from having an excessive amount of pictures on your feed!

Twitter
-Unfollow accounts you don't like or just don't see the point in following anymore.
That's the only tip I can give you at the moment because if I was to say delete tweets, as well, that would just be a super long process, especially for me!

Facebook
I don't really use Facebook, but here are some things I do when I am on there!
-Delete people you don't talk to anymore, people you don't know, and just people who you don't think should be in your friends list, if that makes sense, but by doing this you'll see who you're friends with and think back on why you added them or accepted them in the first place!
-Delete pictures or albums that you don't want on your Facebook. This could be embarrassing pictures from high school or even recently that you just don't like anymore. This helps you limit the amount of albums you make and pictures you have on your Facebook, especially if you don't like having so many pictures on your Facebook!

So that's all for this post! Hope you enjoyed this and was helpful in any way! Have a wonderful Sunday, y'all!

P.S. Lilly Pulitzer for Target launches today and I am BEYOND excited!!

How do you declutter your phone? :)

Top 4 Spring Nail Polishes

Despite the horrible weather we've been having recently, I thought I'd share my top 4 nail polishes for Spring! :) Having a little pop of color, in my opinion, makes a rainy day less gloomy and more bright!

Essie's Mint Candy Apple  - I love how bright this color is! It's a mint green color and it's easy to apply! It takes me two coats to get it how I want and it gives off a spring (and summer) vibe to me!

Essie's Lilacism - This is an all time Spring color! It's a lilac color, of course, and it has almost a satin finish which I personally love and even though it is a pastel color, it makes your nails pop!

Essie's Play Date - As you can see, purple is kind of my go to Spring color, but it's my favorite color and I feel like it goes great with my skin tone! This is a brighter purple and it gives your nails a nice pop and it gives off almost a gel-like finish and I love that!

OPI Pretty Pink Perseveres - This is a baby pink color and I think it's perfect for Spring and even though it does take a couple more coats to get it to my liking, I'd say it's worth it once you look at the end result!

So these were my top 4 colors for Spring! I hope you enjoyed this post! :)

Travel Diary: Acapulco 2015♡

So I'm finally back from my vacation and have gotten back into the swing of things! It feels like such a long time since I last blogged so I'm so glad to be back at it! As you can see from the image above, I went to Acapulco for my Spring Break and I stayed there for two days and even though it was a short trip, I had a blast with my family! Hope you enjoy this post and images! :)

So we always stay at the Copacabana Hotel and it's a hotel located next to the beach so walking access to the beach is fairly short which is always great! While waiting in the car for the cars in front of us to leave, I opened the sunroof and captured this lovely image! Quite proud of it, really, the palm trees look so nice and the contrasting colors of the hotels adds to the image!

Once we got to the hotel, we went to our room and changed into our swimsuits and had a little photoshoot by the balcony haha

And speaking of the balcony, this was my view from the balcony and it was the perfect view to wake up too!

Had to take a group picture before heading into the water!

This is the best feeling, especially when the water is cold, but it's hot as all get out everywhere else!

The lovely view! <3

Always get strands of coconut with hot sauce (Mexican version), chili powder and Salsa Buffalo on the side and lime, of course, it is SO good!!

The sunset was so beautiful, glad the picture turned out good!

Then it was time to go for a walk and grab some dinner and we saw this and decided to take a picture and it turned out pretty good haha on the stone it says France in Spanish and it has the colors of France on the letters!

my eyes look weird, but we took a selfie while walking around the city!

my dinner that night! I order an Alambre de Al Pastor and it was bomb! And of course, the coke in a glass bottle classic!

The next day we got up early and spent some time at the beach for a bit and then we went to Barra Vieja which is about 30 minutes from the city!
Where we stopped at to take this picture you could see all of Acapulco (that was visible) and it was just so pretty, a nice view, for sure!

Another selfie on our way to Barra Vieja!

I love this picture I captured! The palm trees are perfect, the lighting was perfect, it was just perfect and fun fact, I took this in a moving vehicle going quite fast so kudos to me and my photography skills haha

So, as most of you may (or may not) know Barra Vieja is where you can see alllll of the ocean, nothing is there, safety wise, and the waves are a lot more intense. Some people, however, do swim in the ocean, but of course use caution when in the water!

Such a nice feeling! <3

Rocking the Polo! (Totally doesn't match! haha)

My cousin took this of us and I noticed my tan line! I got burnt, for sure!

We got to ride the four wheeler for the first time here with my cousins! It was fun and the beach is super long!!

Food time!! We got some fish and I think this is called Bacalao (I don't remember) and this is my second time eating it and the woman (Mrs. Thomasita, the owner!) cooked it and seasoned it perfectly!

And for dessert, I had a piece of flan! It was so good! :)

The last beach sunset! So sad!

I love how the water looks when the sun is setting! It's so beautiful and peaceful!

Before leaving, we got some souvenirs!
We got this bundle of shells and other cute things! :) The star is my favorite!

Then we got these cute bottles, not sure what they're for, I'm guessing for keepsakes, but either way, it's so cute!

Then I got some keychains and the fish I gave to my cousin Samantha and the frog is for Michael! :)

I also got some handmade bracelets and the big blue one is for my friend Ariana and she actually wanted a bracelet like this and me being the awesome and caring friend that I am, stumbled upon it and got it for her! :) Hope you like it, Ari!

I even did a vlog about my trip so here it is!

What'd you do for Spring Break?

Hope you enjoyed this post and have a great day, y'all! :)
