What's In My Beach Bag + Beach Essentials

The time has come for me to be at the beach and seeing as tomorrow I'll be heading to Acapulco, I decided to share what I bring in my beach bag and all the essentials!

My beach bag is from Victoria's Secret and seeing as I had a coupon for a free tote after a $75 purchase, I decided to head to the mall and get myself a free tote!

1. Oversized jersey shirt- I bring an oversized jersey for when I want to just walk around the city, you'll be surprised by how many tourists and locals are literally in their bathing suits or with a tunic or oversized shirt. It's quick to grab and comfy, so why not? My jersey is from Victoria's Secret Pink!
2. Tunic- I bring a tunic in case my jersey gets super soaked or I'm just lounging at the hotel and know I'm going to be heading back into the ocean or pool. Mine is from Altar'd State!
3. Bathing suit- Can we talk about how cute my swim suit is?! It's scalloped and I love it! I got it at Victoria's Secret and it is super comfy for a swim suit!
4. Baseball cap- Most people don't bring these, but I definitely do! You can wear it to protect your face from the sun and for when you have crazy beach hair you can easily put on your baseball cap! Mine is pink with navy polo jockey logo!
5. Beach towel- I bring it for when I want to lay out and to dry myself off when I'm spent some time in the water! Mine is from Victoria's Secret
6. Sunglasses- Self explanatory, to protect my eyes from the sun and because they're a necessity in my day-to-day life recently! Mine are the polarized Ray Ban Clubmasters!
7. Hair ties & bobby pins- I bring these to either put my hair in a bun or ponytail and not have my hair in my face and if anyone needs one, you'll come to rescue and give them a hair tie!
8. Waterproof mascara- having your mascara run is never attractive so bringing a waterproof mascara would be wise! Mine is from MAC!
9. Magazine- I bring a magazine with me for when I take a short break from being in the water and like to see what's new and what's trending and whatnot! The magazine I'm bringing is the Glamour April 2015 Spring edition!
10. Headphones- when reading my magazine, I put on some music so headphones are definitely a must-have in my beach bag!
11. Small crossbody- I don't like lugging around a huge purse with me so I bring a small crossbody with me because it doesn't take up much space and I can grab it and go when I'm heading out to the city! Mine is the Michael Kors 'Fulton' Large crossbody!
12. Camera- I usually take pictures with my iPhone but if I want it to look a bit more clean and professional, so to speak, I take pictures with my Nikon Coolpix L120 Camera and the results are pretty amazing!
13. Water bottle- when out in the sun, you definitely need to keep yourself hydrated. I bring a water bottle or two with me so I don't get dehydrated, but you can always order something from your hotel and they'll gladly bring it out to you!
14. Sunscreen lotion (silly me forgot to put this in my picture)- It's not pictured, but bring sunscreen!! I cannot stress that enough! There's nothing worse than having an awful sunburn from being out in the sun for so long!

So those were all the things that I have in my beach bag and my essentials! It seems like a lot, but the bag is huge so everything fits perfectly in there which is great, no second trips up to the hotel room! Hope y'all enjoyed this post! :)

What's your favorite thing about going to the beach?

Travel Diary: Arriving in Mexico

It's been a day since I've arrived in Mexico and the heat has been very crazy! I forget that this is usually the time when the heat is unbearable and crazy all together, but I'm glad to be back! I love traveling, but sometimes it can get a bit tiresome, but I know it's very worth it in the end!

As typical as it is, I took a window picture and I love how it turned out, it's so green and lovely, I'm so glad to be back in my second home!

Another typical passport picture and this was when we landed in Mexico (Finally after three hours of being on the plane! Not as bad, but it can get a bit boring haha)

When my uncle came to get us from the airport, we were all starving and we headed to our go-to restaurant and it is called Fonda "Las Sillas" and it is so good!

Their menus could use a mini update, but that's irrelevant, the food is good!

This was our appetizer and nothing was left on the plate, we were that hungry!

This was my meal, it was rayas gratinadas and what it basically is, is slices of green bell pepper and onion mixed with a creamy cheese and then melted cheese on the top, it sounds weird, but it's so good and fills you up quickly especially when you have handmade tortillas!

Once we left Mexico City, we came to my little hometown and had to get me a chamoyada (basically a frozen drink with lots of chamoy sauce and chile powder. I had mine in the mango flavor) it was good and much needed with the heat!

So that's how I spent my first day in Mexico and I enjoyed every minute of it and glad I get to spend time with my family and little adorable cousins! I'll be going to Acapulco soon so a future post about that will definitely be up! :)

How's your Friday been so far?

Comfy Travel Outfits!

As I was looking for an outfit to wear for traveling, I found a couple outfits with using only two pairs of jeans and two pairs of shoes all that's different are the shirts!

When traveling, I like to dress comfy, but also looking presentable, you never know who you're going to meet (this is just my look on it, you can dress however you want!:) ) so these outfits are, in my opinion, great choices for traveling!

This is a more edgier look, but it's comfy nonetheless! If you're a fan of plaid or flannel and combat boots, this is a good outfit to choose! I would also wear a black cami, or whichever you prefer, underneath for when it gets hot in the airport or if you're going somewhere hot you can easily take your plaid shirt off and tie it around your waist!
Button up: American Eagle Outfitters
Leggings: Ann Taylor 'Loft'
Combat boots: Steve Madden

Outfit 2 is a bit more dressier and if you're a girly girl or just love to dress up slightly for traveling, this is a good choice and you can always tweak it up ti fit your personal style! :) Also, having the cardigan comes in handy because plans can get cold and you won't have to get up and get your jacket, you can just keep your cardigan on and use the blanket they give and it's also easy to remove and takes up a very small amount of space for when it's too hot in the airport.

Cardigan: American Eagle Outfitters
Tank: American Eagle Outfitters
 Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters
Flats: Steve Madden

The last two outfits are definitely in the more casual side, so if you love being comfy all around these are perfect for you!

So if you're like me and love the feeling of long slouchy shirts, but still want to give an edgy vibe off, this outfit is for you! The shirt is super comfy and not constricting and if you don't like the feeling  of clothes being super snug on you, like me, this is your best bet! The big dispute about wearing leggings as jeans is kind of ridiculous to me, I say if you like it and feel great in it by all means, wear it! I wear leggings as jeans sometimes and I'm not the least bit ashamed, but if you prefer jeans than you can just wear jeans instead of leggings, simple as that. :) I feel like the boots just give off that edgy look just like I mentioned in the first outfit! Super casual, but still edgy, how could you go wrong??
Shirt: American Eagle Outfitters
Leggings: Ann Taylor 'Loft'
Combat boots: Steve Madden

This next outfit is actually the one I'll be wearing, it's cute, but still super comfy which is great because I have two planes to catch and being comfy is my main priority (along with getting some decent sleep and food in me, it can get a bit hectic!). The shirt is long and flowy and I love that and the jeans aren't super tight even though they're skinny jeans, so that's a plus and the flats are comfy and don't leave blisters on the back of my feet (seriously, bring comfy shoes, so much walking and sometimes running when trying to make it on time for your flight!!)!
Shirt: Deep South Pout
Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters
Flats: Steve Madden

So these are my comfy travel outfits and I hope you enjoyed this and in some way helped you out! :) A tip I'd give is to bring an extra pair of shoes just in case the shoes you decide to wear start to weigh you down or are beginning to give you blisters. Also, keep jewelry to a minimum, it saves time and doesn't start to weigh you down when trying to get to your gate! So that's it for this post and by the time this goes up, I'll most likely be on a plane to Mexico! :)

When is your Spring Break? If you had yours already, where did you go? :)

My Go-To Travel Makeup Routine

Hey guys, so in less than 24 hours I will be in Mexico (Beyond excited!) so I thought I'd share with you all my makeup routine for when I am traveling. It looks like a lot of makeup products, but it really isn't, it's simple and natural looking.

The first thing I do before applying my makeup is moisturize my face, because I have dry skin, moisturizing before anything is a must!
I use the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and I follow the directions strictly, I apply it twice, once in the morning and the again at night, and the results are amazing! It leaves my face feeling less dry which is always a wonderful thing!

Once I let the moisturizer sit in for a couple minutes, I apply a foundation primer so my foundation doesn't budge and also to protect my skin a tad.
I use the E.L.F. Mineral Face Primer and this primer leaves my face looking flawless which is what I love about this primer and it doesn't feel sticky like the other primers I have tried!

While I wait for the primer to get fully absorbed into my skin, I go ahead and apply an eye primer.
I use the Tarte Clean Slate 360 Creaseless 12-Hour Smoothing Eye Primer , now it is a bit overly prized for a 0.39 oz tube, thankfully I got it as a sample, but it does a great job in keeping your eye makeup on for a long time!

I always do my eye makeup first before I apply my foundation. I do this in case I mess up and have to  clean up a bit and this saves me from reapplying foundation every time.
The eyeshadow palette I use is the Revlon ColorStay Eyeshadow Palette in Moonlit , this is a nice palette, it's neutral and it's only 8 bucks, so it's budget friendly which is always good!

The brush I use is the double sided brush that came with the Naked 2 eyeshadow palette and it does the job justice and I use less brushes which is good for when I'm getting ready to head to the airport.
This is the brush!

After applying my eyeshadow, I line my tight line and waterline.
You can barely see the name, but I use the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion and this is the blackest black matte they have. It is pricey, but as I was looking thought my makeup box I found it and forgot that I even purchased it, so I just use it to line my tight line and water line.

Then I use a gel liner and I use the Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black
and the brush I use is the E.L.F. Studio Angled Eyeliner Brush
This works great for when I'm on the go and want to do a quick thin eyeliner and even though it is 3 bucks, it does a good job and totally affordable!

After, I apply mascara and I use two mascaras and both are samples, but I would definitely purchase them in the full size!
The first one is the Tate Lights, Camera, Flashes Statement Mascara in Black and then the second one is Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara in Carbon Black . Now like I said before, they are on the pricier end, but they are amazing mascaras, great quality, give your lashes that lift and the combo of these two is just great!

Once I'm done with my eye makeup, I finally apply my foundation!
I use the Clinique Superbalanced Foundation in Honeyed Beige and again, a pricey item, but it does an amazing job at covering up and leaving a flawless finish.

The two options I use to apply my foundation is a dupe version of the beauty blender that I got from TJ Maxx and then the Clinique Foundation Brush (I stole this from my mom, haha, sorry mom!)

It leaves my face looking matte and not shiny at all even after hours of having it on and I love it!

And lastly I apply blush!
I use the Benefit Rockateur Blush and it's easy to apply and has that rose gold effect and it's natural looking and I love this blush even though it's ridiculously price, but it does a great job, for sure!

So that was my travel makeup routine, it seems like a lot, but when actually applying everything on it takes me about 5-10 minutes max! It's a simple eye look for traveling and it's also great for everyday wear! Hope you enjoyed this post and I'll have a travel outfits post up soon (real soon!)

What's In My Carry On Bag!

[side note: somehow all my older post got deleted so I'm starting fresh now!]

So as you can see from the title, I will be traveling in the next few days and I thought it would be fun to share my essentials for when on the plane and basic neccesities

I use a backpack as my carry on because it's more comfortable for me to carry a backpack than a huge  full tote that makes my arms want to fall off! The backpack I use is The North Face Wasatch II Backpack, it's not in stock anymore, but I'm sure there are others similar to it!

1. Because I'm going somewhere hot, the first thing I pack are my sunglasses! I forgot to pack my sunglasses the last time I traveled and I was so upset and it's worse when you leave them, so from experience I've learned to pack my sunglasses first! The sunglasses I have are the Ray-Ban Black Clubmaster , mine are polarized, which is good for when I'm going to be in the sun for the whole day, which is 80% of the time that I'm there!
2. I always bring a small cross body with me, it's not bulky or big which is perfect for everyday use and I mean who wants to lug around a big tote? I personally don't, especially when I'm going to be walking a lot and won't be stopping for quite some time. I am bringing the Michael Kors 'Fulton-Large' Crossbody
3. I bring a makeup bag with me and I pack the basic essentials that I need while traveling!

-Big hair clip, ponytail holders, travel-sized deodorant, travel-sized hand sanitizer, travel-sized hand cream, travel-sized fragrance mist and rollerball perfume, chapstick, floss, q-tip travel case, and sunglasses case.
4. I put all my cords and tech related stuff in this small but roomy travel makeup bag, it's not the cutest bag, but it does the job of keeping me organized and not fighting to get the cords out and whatnot!
In the bag I have my camcorder and its charger, my Nikon's usb cable, my Mac's charger, my phone charger and my headphones.
5. I bring my planner and small pencil case with all my pens and a pencil and some highlighters because I like to brainstorm when on the plane and I like to jot them down on paper and because I am OCD about my planner I have to have everything color coordinated or else I freak out about it, strange, I know, but hey it keeps me organized.
6. I have my iPad and I use this for when I want to play some games and I use it when I have wifi because it's easier to get out than my Mac.
7. My wallet, self explanatory, haha. I love that I can take off the ID/change slot and use it as a mini wallet if I don't want to bring my whole wallet! My wallet is the Multi-continental 'Let Minnow' Lilly Pulitzer wallet.
8. Magazines, I bring these with me because I like to read magazines when on the plane and bringing my own is more economical than buying airport magazines, I have the March and April editions!
9. My Macbook! I always bring my laptop with me on long trips, especially on long flights! I like to get some editing done and also clean out my computer of old pictures, files, etc. I have the Macbook 15 in with Retina display.

So those are all my essentials and they all fit perfectly in my backpack and it's not super heavy which is always great (back problems)! I can't wait to be at the beach and in the sun, Wednesday can't get here soon enough! haha

What do you bring with you on long trips?
